I've been thinking about it, although it might be a bit premature (maybe we should all hit 70 first?), but I reckon we put a few official teams together an try Arena's one day.
Thoughts?
I dunno if it's possible, but I almost definitely want to get a 40-49s group going  Gala and co could positively rule Arenas! |

yeh i reckon we could field teams in all categories
however i think we need to figure out cheesy strats to anhilate the opposition. Best wait till we're all 70, then sort out who wants in on PVP carnage then sort some teams out :)
Personally, i can see Seer & Cece as being a strong combo, then again any combo with our locks should be funky (Wonju, Seer, Fighty) - only coz i rate fear more than i rate polymorph.
Double rogue or rogue + stealth druid could be nasty too
Ah the possibilities are endless....
(hehehe Zul & me with double Elemental Mastery blasty - insta 4k *minimum* dmg) |

When we eventually do enter the arena's, i think that there will be some heavy investment into respec's and gear changes.
From a mages perspective, the easiest and most effective arena spec i can think of would be a heavy arcane/fire spec.
The ability to PoM Pyroblast while using Arcane Power (30% dmg increase) with spell power (50% increase on crits) and other nasty crit/dmg modifiers have a distinct tendency to eliminate 1 opponent very quickly.
Having said that though, i have heard that a heavy frost mage + sub rogue combo is apparently the nastiest combo around due to the amount of CC and damage potential.
We should head down to DM/STV arena soon enough and start practicing vs each other! |

eh? aren't there practice arena's any more?
I like STV idea though, and some of us have had a bit of practice there too during our ZG days :)
But yeh in a 2v2 or a 3v3 situation, i reckon everyone's initial plan will be to zap the living day lights outta one opponent from the start and have an easier time dealing with the last one (or two)
I reckon if we develop strats to survive the initial engagement, we'll all be one step ahead of the game. |

I'm definately in for arena. The rewards alone are worth it.
Actually, I think the rewards are the only things worth it. The arena design is really uninspiring.
Seer and I played it a bit on test, and while everthing has changed with the new spells and abilites we get by level 70, I do recall a few things.
Healer is very important. All the theories about CC and 4k openers are nice but not so important when one crit heal can undo them all. A stealthed resto druid will probably be the most powerful player, probably combined with a warlock or warrior.
2 warlocks (Seer and I) were very effective. 2 rogues were utterly useless. Apparently the best team were 5 mages spamming AE.
Practice isn't a big issue. The rounds are usually less than a minute, so after you spend an hour playing, you'll be polished.
The limits on what we can do in the arena are pretty strict and I reckon they'll get worse. I'm suprised pallies haven't raised a scream over losing Lay on Hands, or did they get an exemption? I think warriors lost their super abilities too, or do they sneak in under the half-hour cooldown limit?
Anyways, it'll be fun to do it with the IV team, no matter what the outcome. |

fyreblade and I have made a team
walock/mage combo is VERRY nasty
blade and i start off using his insta pyro and I slap with a coil and a insta nuke
about 70% of the time one is dead in sec's
then its just a matter of time before the next one drops
the only hard combos we seem to have troble with is 2 rogues |

was going thru the shaman forums, and a few shamans have tipped the +1600 healing barrier! And most of them did it with gladiator gear.
I would definitely like to start arena runs. I have the gear (i.e. high +stam and high +dmg) but i'd need to respec.
I might respec in the coming week to be a combat healer - i'll try not to lose earth shield.... |
