hey all. i have decided to lvl Gawk. so no more 40-49 BG's for me :*( i was just wondering if anyone has more knowledge then I ( which wont be hard) about which specs are best for different situations! i guess i wil be looking for a PvE spec as i lvl closer to 70, i already know how to pwn most classes as affliction. when i hit 50, i respecced to demo, mainly to see how the felguard goes, and i must say, he goes quite well. he does about 1/4 of my total DPS, and can OT mobs if need be. i am such a noob lock when it comes to PvE, in mara last night, i topped the DMG charts tho, against a 49 mage, and a 55 dps pally ( DPS pally?? lol), so i must have been doing something right. but there are things i miss about the affliction tree, like instant dots, instnat fears, siphon life etc. but i gain buffs from whicever demon i have out, and i get more HP and MP and i can summon a demon instanlt,( well almost). so i know it is a personal thing, but i cant decide which spec to go!! i guess as i lvl, i can put points into both affliction and demo.
another issue i came across was i was oom really quick, i know i have life tap, but that doesnt help when your healer sucks balls!!, so most of the instnace i was low on HP and MP. is there a way to be mana efficient when dpsing like a mad man?? or will i have to rely on the healers to top me up after i life tap?? i know now when i play Zullsoka, i always let the locks know that i wil heal them if i hear/see em tap. but for noob healers, they just get annoyed and dont understand why my HP keeps going down.

any hints or tips would be appreciated.

leveling Gawk eh?

That's pretty cool - i'm gonna level my pally to 29 and twink his ass out :)

As to spec's i found with demonologist the most similar to our shaman "resto" play style (solo PVE). You have bigger hits, but slower - so just let the pet soak it up and have a nice chain of shot combos ready.

The thing i really did miss was insta corruption. Being 49 really limited my options.

Ask tebbet about affliction though.... i remember seeing that bastid grinding 10 mobs at a time in nagrand! Mana wise dark pact kicks ass! Never outta mana!

Affliction/Demonologist is probably the best 2 for PVE imho.... with affliction giving greater returns with more micro, and demonologist being the safest/hardest to kill (damn that soul link!)

Then again i've only got a 49 twink, so ask wonju/power/teb...

cheers mojo, i never did try out any other spec while in the 40-49 bracket, because affliction was so easy to PvP with. now i am starting to do more PvE, both solo grinding/questing and instances, i want to get the most out of Gawk dps wise. lol to seer grinding 10 mobs at once, i havnt had the guts to pull that many mobs at once, but i have had some fights where i pullled too much agro from a bad fear or runners or w/e, and end up downing 5-10 mobs in 1 pull, all about my lvl, and i love being able to take on elite mobs that are higher then me , and winning most the time :)
as demo, last night i was grinding out some quests where i had to kill 100's of harpies to get a horn or something, well i had like no downtime at all, i just sicked my felguard onto the mob and cast my dots, tap, drain life, and then the mob is dead. this took about 10secs per mob or less, so for grinding/farming, demo seems to be a sweet way to go. then when i got the horn, i had to summon a 50 elite harpy, she dies just as easy as the trash i was grinding, i think i just threw a SB and she was dead.

well i was just perusing the lock forums, and there is so much crap on there!! but there was some interesting things that got me thinking..

Macros- now i havnt had to use many macros in wow, the only one i rly use is a healing one on Zull, which has NS+HW12 on the same button, but this is a very simple macro.
i was just wondering if any other locks use macros for things like seduce/banish/fear/deathcoil/pvp/what ever.

p.s. i havnt seen seer around much... is he stil around?? and any idea when mumma bear is gonna make her return?? soon hopefully, i miss that crazy bear. :)

Here is a link to a whole host of Macro's for locks on the left hand side down near the bottom it has macro's for all classes there is loads for locks I've had a look they have some nice farming ones as well plus 1 click button for dots should work really well for affliction lock. Hope this helps marco's are great to use makes life so much easier.

Nothing big, just a few screenies outside of Org in Durotar - all members, big and small! Perhaps we can even ask the dudes from Stormreaver to roll a level 1 alt, just to be represented in the picture....

:) good to hear u wil be back soon shawne. I hope they are stil accepting server X-fers to Barthilas, i know it is a full server population wise, but lets hope u can stil do paid Xfers.
I have left IV and tried out the raiding life for a couple of months. i did know this b4 i left, but it is even more obvious to me now, that it is the small guilds like IV who have a core of ppl who are friends and have stuck thru the thick and thin together, who make the game what it is.and WoW isnt all about raiding, i miss the fun times we had ganking and even the arena fun we had as a guild. those were the days!! remember STV arena b4 ZG?? or our trips to DM arena?? ahh funfunfun.
i only left IV because i wanted to see some end game instances, and once a week into kara just wasnt enough to scratch the itch, but after a couple of months, i think the itch is almost scratched, i have seen most of kara, and hopefully will be visiting Gruul this weekend.
i think now that they have announced the latest Xpac, i will lvl gawk to 70, and perhaps even lvl a tank class ( Tankthat, is like lvl 18 or something :) ).
so hope to see u online soon shawne. and Zull might be back wit u guys soon.
