Firstly, they're giving hunters a few massive PVP buffs. Will make Survival rock in arenas. About time too!
• Wyvern Sting is now instant cast - ZOMG. Insta-cast sleep FTW!!
• Arcane Shot (Rank 6+) will now dispel 1 Magic effect in addition to damage - Double ZOMG...Goodbye stupid pally bubble!
• Serpent Sting, Immolation Trap, and Explosive Trap gain additional damage based on Ranged Attack Power - Finally traps other than snake, ice and frost that are worth using! Those skills were pretty much useless.

Looks like every class is getting a pretty decent buff. I'm especially excited about the buffs to hunters:

Secondly, It's good to see that locks aren't getting any buffs. :twisted: At least they're not getting a nerf.

Arcane shot dispelling magic buffs disturbs me.

Its a nice change and all, and will make Hunters more viable in the arena - but something about a hunter having an instant cast 41 yard range dispel on a 6 second timer screams OP.

Especially seeing as my Mage - AKA THE MASTER OF MAGIC - can't dispel buffs (we can steal buffs for 700 mana!)

Yer, tbh that thought occured to me as well. It could potentially be very OP, but I can see a balance:

- Priests get Dispell magic at 30 yards, insta-cast, no CD.
- 41 yards is not it's all cracked up to be, especially if you have a dead-zone. In PVP your traps and instants are all you got. 75%, you don't get a chance to cast anything that requires you to stand still...or you die!
- Combine that with the fact that hunter's already suffer HARD from LOS in arenas. If you're not LOS then they're are probably in your deadzone. Nagrand is the only arena which doesn't really affect us in that way.
- Hunter's "burst" damage is lammmeee. The dispell would actually give us a chance against plate if we didn't have to worry about bubbles.

oh, and I like this idea of a personal rating system.
Stops noobs like me running around in mad S3 pvp gear, unless we deserve it. hehe. No more arena points farming, and 1400 rating teams running around in full S2 gear. :p

u obviously didnt read the shaman patch notes :*( we hardly got anything new at all!! except for our earthbind totem now DOES NOT break rogues stealth!!! WTF it with that??

hehe well admittedly no, i didn't read through the shaman list. but I wouldn't say that you didn't get anything. Alot of skills got buffed, mana reductions and some skills had their cast times reduced. Means you'll go for longer! Hardly anything to scoff at.

Especially these ones:
•Frost Shock no longer has Diminishing Returns
•Shamanistic Rage will reduce damage taken by 30% in addition to it's current effects

•Lightning overload proc chance up from 5% max to 20%
•Elemental Focus will now reduce the mana cost of your next two damage spells by 40%
•Lightning Bolt casting time reduced to 2.5 seconds, and mana cost decreased
•Chain Lightning casting time reduced to 2 seconds, and mana cost decreased
•May equip 2-Handed Axes and 2-Handed Maces without spending talent points - Gives ya extra points to spent on other things

Oh and another thing..

Confirmed by a blue, about 1/3 of your +healing will also go to +spell dmg!
That oughta make resto a little less painful.

I just realised you were talking about the 2.2 patch Zul. This thread is on changes in 2.3 :D

I read that Druids will get Battle Rez reduced to a 20 minute cooldown. Which would make me think about using it alot more often, which is cool.

I'm kinda worried about that hunter dispel :shock:

Means those restro duels of mine won't go as sweetly as before..

What?!.....you mean HoT's are dispellable? :shock:
This whole time, I had no idea.

Anyways, so you should be worried tree :)
As things are now, arena matches all kinda start like:"ok, now where's the hunter? he's squishy and harmless.".
Even I go for the hunters first when looking for a target.

oO kk wil, i just assumed that this post was made after the latest patch was implemented, i havnt read the up coming patch notes. but i just did, wow, shaman will be getting a nuce buff.
Lightning Overload now has a 4/8/12/16/20% chance to proc
•Lightning Overload damage has been decreased by 50%
•Lightning Overload now causes 0 threat
•Mana Spring Totem now restores mana at a rate of 20 mana every 2 seconds
•Water Shield now costs 0 mana to cast, and the mana per globe has been substantially increased
•Water Shield's duration has been reduced to 1 minute, and grants mana for each globe left upon ending
•Elemental Focus will now reduce the mana cost of your next two damage spells by 40%
•Lightning Bolt casting time reduced to 2.5 seconds, and mana cost decreased
•Chain Lightning casting time reduced to 2 seconds, and mana cost decreased
•Lightning Mastery reduced to .1/.2/.3/.4/.5 seconds
•May equip 2-Handed Axes and 2-Handed Maces without spending talent points
•Frost Shock no longer has Diminishing Returns
•Shamanistic Rage will reduce damage taken by 30% in addition to it's current effects
•Spirit Weapons will reduce melee threat by 30%
•Mental Quickness adds 10/20/30% to +Dmg and +Healing based on your total Attack Power, in addition to it's current effects



OMG!!!! finally we will be able to equip 2h weapons without spending that talent point!! ,
mana spring totem buff :)
lightning spell buff :)
water shield buff :)
frost shock buff :)

sorry i was QQ haha, cant wait til this patch

Hmm remove curse in boomkin form ... everything seems to be a counter to locks imo.

well after that shopping session i've had a chance to have a more detailed read of the patch notes, and i'm one happy chappy!

* water shield restores mana based on number of time I DON"T GET HIT!!!!!! WOO HOO! I don't have to get hurt to get mana!

* mana spring - i'll have to check the stats, but its looking more decent!

* 20% proc rate from lighting overload + zero threat = yummy! I'll definitely spec into that (majormojo dreams of a double insta lighting bolt gibb)

* hehe i'm gonna roll on pally's 2 hander maces now - my caster weapon might actually be useful in melee hehe

* with the changes in elemental focus + water shield + mana spring + overload, i've got a chance to not go OOM every 3 minutes....


* 30% of AP as +heal/+dmg means enhancement folks can actually spot heal properly now! heck even 1500AP = 500+dmg/heal, that's better stats than some elemental shamans i've seen out there

* shamanistic rage with 30% dmg reduction makes enhancement PVP worthy! (well kinda)

We're planning to shrink the min range on ranged attacks to reduce or eliminate the "dead zone". The only point to the dead zone was to ensure the min range on ranged weapons was enough such that ranged weapon attacks wouldn't be used while also being melee'd (at least by mobs... players have a bit of slush built in).

Well i've had a bit of time to read thru the rest of the patch notes and here's a few more gems

* Disc Priests can cast pain suppression on friendly targets for 40% dmg reduction + 5% threat reduction. This is gonna make priests and their friends even harder to kill :(

* mages hypothermia is down to 30 secs and something about their spell co-efficents went down or something, either way they do more dmg? They'll also evocate for 15% of mana instead of it based on spirit or something...

* hunters will be spamming arcane shot as offensive dispels now, and stings + fire traps will do more dmg
