Possible New Tank: ME?

As some of you may recall, a week or 2 ago (the night Loo/Big left) I announced while on my mage that my brother was quitting for a while. He was a level 70 feral druid on Thaurissan before quitting. Right now, he's not planning on coming back to WoW any time soon and I asked if I could transfer his druid over to good old Barthilas so I could use it. He said I could keep it, and now it's mine :D.

Loonar@Thaurissan.
http://wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Thaurissan&n=Loonar
(He's currently speced to do Arena so don't judge him yet.)

The spec I used while tanking was 0/47/14 Feral Combat.

I already have some ideas of some gear I'd replace once he's switched (like getting some good tank trinkets (unless I find some in the bank), 120 armor enchant to cloak, getting the CE-Revered tank necklace (just a matter of going to Zanger and buying it), putting the aldor tank glyph thing on his shoulders, etc). His dodge/defence is probably slightly lower than it should be but I'll try to fix it asap.

Also, I know a few people would be greatly benefited from doing this, namely Bubble since he is constantly putting his hand in his wallet to respec whenever we lack an OT.

So my main question is: Will the guild get any use out of him? Should I spend the money to get him transfered over?

tl;dr: Should I move my brothers (now mine) feral druid over to Barthilas and upgrade his already fair gear so that he's a decent tank for the guild to use when tanks are in short supply and will he get much use by the guild?

Looks like he is fairly decently geared mate, I'm sure that toon is quite up to tanking kara etc.

But the real question is - do you want to tank? Tanking can be fun now and then, but ask anyone who has done it for any long periods of time and it quickly becomes tedious.

Your fault if you wipe
Your fault if someone pulls aggro (omg noob tank cant hold aggro!)
Your repair bill >>>>>>> everyone elses
Your responsibility to know all the fights and how to tank them

That said, I'm sure another tank would be welcomed with open arms, and im sure if you are keen to do it, then you will find plenty of work!

I can help you out Raiph with any questions you have. Firstly, keep the +12 agil on cloak :) Secondly, get +35 agil on Earthwarden. Then the rest will come.

Main tanking is probably the greatest responsibility that anyone has in a raid/instance. You must know the pulls, where to pull, when to pull, which to mark, how to tank a mob, how to tank multiple mobs, boss encounters, what to do when you lose agro, and how to save healers from dying. And sometimes, the slightest innocuous mistake leads to wiping 10 people (on a personal note, I've wiped 40 man raids single handedly, back to back :)).

If you are thinking of tanking, you will begin life as an OT. But, one day, this will turn into an MT (if only temporarily). As an OT, you should try to note of what an MT does, so that you can likewise do the same independantly one day.

I've been main tanking for around 2 years now, on both warrior and druid. The key thing is: you can never stop learning from observing other tanks. Except if you're Shawne, who taught me a whole heap about being a tank (esp druid tank). Shawne is a guru, if you get a chance to talk to her, do it.

Should you spend the money to xfer him - ONLY if you want to accept more responsibility, and if you are willing to spend equal time on the druid as on your rogue, and if you have spare $ to do it. No one is forcing you, but if it's something you want to try, it will be definitely be welcomed.

I second all of the above comments. If you havent tanked before definately give it go, see if you like it. It is cool. You will be hated far more than you're loved, but that goes with the job.
Any additional tank is welcome in the guild, the other thing to keep in mind is that not only will you have a potential new tank, but possibly a potential new healer. If we head into gruuls, we're gonna need some versitility around group configuration, and a hybrid character is always welcome.

Okay, he's now on Barthilas. I was forced to rename him, his new name is Tyton (Titan was taken).

I'll be on him Thursday for newb night since Raiphy doesn't really need much from those bosses. I've had some practice tonight in BM (3 flawless runs) and I'm getting the gist of tanking again.

Anyways, OT-Raiphy says G-NITE.

woo hoo - good work raph!

Hmmm i know this is a tad premature, but if we find 10 people who aren't locked to kara, let's try it out

I mean first boss huntsman - we can get away with a fair bit, so i think it'll be ok to give it a go. The only down side, is that people will be locked... meh we'll see

anyways i'm keen to give netherspite a go 2nite!!! Heck i'll even respec to my crappy totem of crappy 3% crit for a 41 talent point totem. I haven't respec'ed for a while now!

After healing you through slabs, I think you'll be fine in kara. Group 2 is go!

Also, you should come on stealth runs to farm badges in heroics. It's actually fun, and you can get badges very fast.

Tree + elgoro + bash + me + rogue = win

BF is stealth runnable, I don't know if they add any detectors is heroic mode.

in fact, most of them are stealth runnable. Some aren't really worth it though, like slabs. Blizz just put heaps of monsters in the boss rooms that have to be cleared regardless

I hate slabs
