gish, looks neat. it would take me awhile to get used to the player portraits up on top. as a healer i would want more ranks of my healing spells up on my ui. just helps out with mana efficiency.... unless your healing mods pick the appropriate rank for u?? i know i used to use a heal mod ( back in ZG days), which was like a 1 button all purpose heal mod, it used to choose which rank and which spell was most efficient to use at that time. kinda a cheaters way to heal imo, but it saved me many a headache when we were 1st learning the fights.
i never found a totem timer that i was happy with, but post 2.4, i read that totem timers were included as part of the default ui?? i hope so, i havnt been on zull to find out. |

Hmmm well healbot (the green box between player and target bars) has a really flexible setup. Currently I have it set up left click LHW(full rank) shift left click LHW down 3 or so ranks, right click HW rank 9, shift right click full rank HW, middle click chain heal, mouse4 a macro which does nature's swiftness+full rank healing wave and there's a bunch of others. I only moved my party up along the top because I ran outta room along the bottom in things like BG's where my healbot got much bigger...
As for totem timers, the one that came with the UI package is called "GotWood?". It's pretty good but simple. The big ugly circle thing has one built in but it doesn't seem to work so well with 2.4 so I just have it disabled for the time being. The blizzard one does look decent, I'm just waiting until someone makes a mod which makes it configureable :) |

Well here are the screenshos of my UI (its a bit messy)
This shot shows off Healingestimator (which Grid does, not sure why I still use it), DoTimers (to track my HoTs) and Quartz. Grid is there but only a small square:

This shot shows grid in all its glory. Coupled with Clique, helps healing immensely. I think I tried Healbot once and got dizzy trying to figure it out. That was a while ago though.

This is what my ui looks like. Just as my pet is dying. I haven't got any unit frames. The normal blizz ones are alright

Hmm having a bit more of a read about Healbot... I might give it another chance.
Questions for ya Gish:
1. How much room do the Healbot bars start to take up once ur in a raid or something massive like AV?
2. Does Healbot show you who is/isn't in range of your heals?
3. What mod/s are you using to lay out your action bars and chat windows like that? |

Hmmm well firstly, you can adjust the size of the bars to as long or short, thick or thin as you want, and showing in as many columns as you want too. I think you can also have a few presets so you can quickly switch between different setups for different situations (eg 5-10 man, 25 man, 40 man/AV).
Secondly, healbot does show who's in range. You can set different opacity levels for people who are in range or not in range, people who are in range and have aggro, and any incoming heals from other players (helps a bit with overheals). I have mine set so that it lights up if the person is in range and has aggro (or is taking damage in a BG) which gives a bit of a hand with letting you know when that pesky mage (or ele shaman :-p) has pulled aggro so I can start casting a heal straight away. I'm almost always on top of the heals list in any BG, even with my cruddy +heals...
Thirdly, I downloaded a full UI package called HALs or something which you can get from here: http://www.thepalsforlife.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?id=2928&p=1
After downloading it you'll probably need to update a few of the mods manually because they don't work with 2.4 otherwise, plus add any others you might want (eg healbot, gatherer, class specific mods)
Make sure you download the one for your resolution though! I didn't and spent about 3 hours rearranging everything to fit to my 1280x1024 res only to see the next day there was one already set up for it :(
The specific mods that make my action bars look like that are Bartender3 and Cycircled, and the box things around them are actually a seperate mod called eePanels2 I think. Basically they just make boxes... A good mod if you want help setting up your UI is Align which when you toggle puts a big grid over your screen so you can line everything up.
I hope that helped... I've changed mine a little since posting my pics though, just different totem timers that fit in more with the rest of the UI. If you want I can zip up all the folders you'd need to try the UI I have out (you just rename your current WTF and Interface folders to wtf-backup or whatever) and you could have a play for yourself? Otherwise you could get the ones from the site up there :) |

Thx for the info. I'll definitely give healbot a shot just to see it in action. As long as it doesnt take up too much real estate I can stick to it. as you can see in my second screenshot above, having an AV raid on screen with Grid, doesn't really take up too much room at all, considering. The boxes empty out as people lose health, and if they get a debuff, the icon appears over their name, so i know when to abolish poison or remove curses. Nothing wrong with Grid+Clique, but maybe I want something prettier.
Yeah I rape the healing in BGs usually... sometimes double that of second place. But Bgs are SRZ BZNS, it could just be cause we're actually doin our job, unlike the other healers who run about going afk.
Don't worry about zipping up folders for me... I'll read up on the actionbar mods first and see if I want to pursue them. |

Oh yeah, forgot to say I use decursive for poison/disease cleansing but you can set it up through healbot too :) |

Hmmm strange... When I installed it, everything just worked! The only reason I can think of why it wouldn't work is that there was a typo when you renamed the accountname, realm and character folders contained in the WTF/Account folder (each of the three folders I just mentioned is one level deeper than the previous). Either that or you completely forgot to rename them
Do the new addons even load up or are they just not working at all? |
