I mean seriously in all the 5v5 arena we've been doing, I'm always getting focus fired on.... I spend a good half the every match (if not the whole match) just avoiding death, while my team mates get in on the action!

I'm begining to think my role in our 5's is to soak up dmg and distract everyone from the real action that's happening, i'm like a PVP tank! (blood lust is my "Challenging Shout" button)

Because they dont have a spare half hour to kill the disc priest, resto druid or any pally ...

IDK much about arena, but isnt the point in any arena match to target the weakest member 1st? for all our mail armor, we are still kinda squishy and easy to kill. shaman are also targeted afaik, because we are potentially the healer, and/or talents like purge,bloodlust, and our dreaded totems, makes shaman the obvious 1st choice to kill. all of the above talents makes our other team members harder to kill,and makes the team do more dmg or soak up more dmg.. so eliminating the buff class makes life easier to take down the rest.

like i said, i am an arena noob, but this is what i thought.

i dunno - considering we're a burst class, i'm actually spending more mana purging/lay totems/shocking than i am actually throwing lighting bolts.

I only throw bolts when someone is low and needs that extra push to kill

i'm going OOM coz i'm spamming purge non stop

But yeah thinking of respec'ing to enhancement for 3's.... should be fun!

Yeah what Bash said - basically you're not a disc priest, resto druid, pally, warrior in plate, rogue with CloS and Cheat Death. That leaves locks (but SL makes em a bit tough), Mages (Iceblock gives em 10 seconds of safety), Hunters (die!) or Shammies.

I'll put it to you this way Major:

In last nights team match up:

Milt - MS Warrior - No point focusing him because he will just get healed and gain rage to pwn you with. Unless your team has massive burst, better off just trying to CC

Misscall - Disc priest - Won't die unless under focus fire, and even then will take alot of punishment before he goes down (although typically its you or him)

Natureshift - Resto druid - erm.. Resto druid - enough said.

Bubble - Ret Pally - Focusing me only gives me mana back and wastes your time unless you manage to CC both our healers and have mass dispel ready. 99% of the games we play, I'm totally ignored or CC'ed till its too late.

Then we have Majormojo - Ele Shaman - Massive Burst Potential, relatively ok survivability compared to fire mages etc, however out of all the people on our team, your by far the squishiest.

Though we would have been up to 1850 if milt didn't disconnect all the time :evil:

However coming from a dial up back ground - i feel for him....

Looks like shiny season 3 weapons for us next week! WooT!

Anyways gear wise i'm going to try to stack +dmg gems now... i'm over 400 resil and over 30% crit, so i'm just gonna regem my shit and push for as much +dmg as i can baby!
