Hrmm, I was having a /cry after being smited badly in 2v2 by a lock.
I am consistently at wits end about how I can drop the lock. I don't even care about surviving the dots.
I'm currently 0/21/40 Survival with Scattershot, and I just can't play it out in my head how I could possibly win against an afflic lock. Anyone got any ideas?
The way I see it, on average PVP-geared locks will have about 12-13k health and Hunters about 9-10k.
- Lock can stand there insta-cast 3 Dots (Corruption, Agony, Siphon Life) and just drain life without bothering to move into our deadzone. In a shootout, we will die and they will still have 70% life left. Dots will tick for like 1k per second on the hunter
- Simply trying outdps the dots, a Hunter would have to do about 1200+ dps and kill the lock in 9 seconds. Even if I FD outta the drain life, blow all coodowns, *stand still* and shoot, there's no way we can unload that much.
- In reality, the lock will not be standing still. They will probably run towards us, dot as he runs, and drop a fear or skillcoil in our deadzone. Pop in an immolate and shadowbolt while we're feared for good measure.
- So given that we will actually have to kite, there's even less chance of us doin 1200+ dps.
- Finally, to top it off: Soul Link, Healthstones and Soulstones
Is there nothing I can do against a lock?? This isn't a lock nerfing call. I'm just wanna know to deal with the suckers in arenas.
Only thing I can think of is
1) BM Spec. Let the pet do all the damage and just run and hide till it's over.
2) Stack on loads of stam and shadow resist gear ??
3) Frost/Snake trap + Silence + Scatter won't buy use enough time. _________________ Highest crit to date:

Oh just for some comic relief, there's a thread on this same topic.
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=108204989&sid=1&pageNo=1
It's starts off with a lock posting how OP his class is and that against hunters, they should get a nerf. All valid points, but of course 1st page into it, it turns into a massive hunter vs hunter slagfest
Good laugh. God 90% of hunter are retards. _________________ Highest crit to date:

| I learnt after years of dying to accept my place with the rest of the WoW community as a 2nd tier pvp class. |
