Haha, nice one.
Bring back the Boom!
It'd be nice to get some competition ... Wonju's been dragging the chain soo much lately ...
Actually i noticed wonju come from nowhere on the dmg meters once he got his 2 bits of T4.
I still got 1 or 2 more tricks up my sleeve ... |

I dunno - i've heard some very conflicting things with people regarding dmg meters
Perhaps we should get ones we can synchronise at the end of a fight to get a true picture of what's happening?
No offence, but a ret pally, beating a lock by alot seems a tad weird....or perhaps the propaganda on the forums has finally gotten to me. I forgot which site i was reading, but it had the top 5 DPS'ers of guilds that have cleared BT and SSC, and usuallly the top 3 classes are rogues/locks/hunters - closely followed by mages (I think i was following a thread where some angry mages were ranting on about getting nerfed)
I've also gotten loads of conflicting info regarding hunter DPS. The dmg meters are very range bias?
Can you all post up which dmg meters your all using and which version? Perhaps we can align our dmg meter mods? _________________ Need more sleeeep.....oh LF1M Shaman scholo....me me me!

Not that I'm in the raids with you guys but I use DamageMeters (complete with Americano Spelling and all) and when I'm in instances etc I treat pet data as my own which is something you have to spell out to mages when they call you hax for pwning them on the damage output.
Generally I only use it for my own interest but occasionally ppl in pugs want to see it and if I top it cool (rare), if not I use the old 'solid sustained dps with threat mitigation' line.
I read a couple of hunter and pally blogs most weeks who are involved in raiding (10,25 man etc) and their guilds seem to use WoW Web Stats -
http://wowwebstats.com/doc-index.jsp
Nice way to breakdown different aspects of a group's dps, heals, hits taken etc. Puuuuuuuuurdy colours huh..

Yar I'm a major QQ'er of DamageMeters, although much of the time I really am just falling asleep at the keyboard so I'm probably rightfully not in top 5.
I've had Recap, Recount, SWStats and DamageMeters all updated and running at the same time on my machine. Always with different results. I've had variances from 50dps up to 300dps between the meters.
The closest two were usually Recount and Recap and DamageMeters the most way off.
(I'll post up a screenie when I could be bothered)
I've also seen alot of guilds post on Wow Web Stats so that you review shot rotations, heals, deaths etc after. Seems to be the most "official" source of dps.
Oh, and I 2nd what Wellhard says. Merge Pet damage! _________________ Highest crit to date:

lets see about it i did ok last night against trash in KZ and illhoof. and i even did some ok dps on prince, but prince isnt a good indication of mellee DPS. the constant running away from (mind block... whats it called?), and trying to dodge the fire golem things.
i recon attumen would be a better indication of pure dps, there isnt any distractions. most other fights in kara are more based around coordination ,not just dps.
so... i have been reading and i think that the combo i am using atm for weapons is ok.. but could be better. I am using a slow MH and a Fast OH, my thinking with this was that i could imbue MH with WF, and OH with FT/FB. therefore maximising the FT/FB procs on the fast OH, and also negating the 3sec hidden timer on WF, never allowing the OH weap to steal the WF proc.
end game shaman all seem to use 2 slow weapons... with WF on both weapons... I guess the thinking behind this is that WF is stil our best imbue, and having 2 slow high end dmg weapons both with the chance to proc WF will maxamize our dps.
any thoughts on this?? |

By all rights i shouldn't be top of the dmg when i am. The rogues, locks and mages are meant to pwn that (quite fairly imo as that is their only PvE speciality) but i'd be interested in seeing what happens. Additionally my dmg may be distorted by the fact that there's always shammies around and i get to steal that nice 20% nature bonus every once in while, although i reckon insect swarm probably swallows that more than most things. _________________ Is it a bird? Actually he didn't. He reset his meter when we were fighting the trash that are immune to magic, then yelled "hey everybody, look at me! I'm not as lame as you all thought"
FAIL
30 seconds later, I was ahead again. |

Actually no - i even paused the event data during that part to be fair.
And even if that was the case, everyone elses meter would have been different - but it wasnt

If you paused your meter, why did it match everyone elses?
Everyone's meter was reset, because we had just entered the dungeon. You bet me 10g you could stay ahead, promptly dropped to 6th place and went strangely quiet for the rest of the night, hoping I'd forget your silly statement.
Also, you owe me 10g. |

Oo getting nasty now!
Because they synchronise!
I bet you 10g i could stay ahead overall on the meter, and promptly killed myself on prince with Seal of Blood proc on enfeeble :S.
There was not quietness, I was quite vocal about my death and loss of dmg spots.
Not that gloating about only just beating an undergeared ret pally on the dmg meters, with a warlock in T4 is really worth it though - wouldnt you agree
Especially as I was leading through curator and aran and holding 3rd place in front of you for most of the raid
