Not that we really have trouble with Prince anymore, but i thought this was worth mentioning.

The main cause of wipes on Prince is tank death during Phase 2. This is due to the thrash parrys that prince does, which leads to several consecutive hits that add up to almost 20k with enough bad luck.

The simple way to avoid these massive spikes (and most importantly for warriors/paladins, using up all of your shield block charges leading to crushing blows), is to not autoattack.

Without autoattacking, Prince has almost no chance to parry you, which means he cannot Thrash parry you for 11tybillion damage - leading to no massive spikes in tank damage.

Stupid idea you say bubble? How will the tank hold threat without attacking? This is where a pally tank comes in useful.

Pallies can use reactive threat to hold aggro, all while not autoattacking Prince and not being parried. Using Holy Shield, concecrate and JoR, a paladin can maintain threat generation, and not need to autoattack at all during phase 2.

Warriors have it a little bit harder, however if they gain enough threat during phase 1, shield bashing, thunderclaps and demo shout threat should be enough to sustain highest threat throughout the phase.

Druid tanks unfortunately have no real recourse, other than to try to stack as many bleeds as possible, and mangle when its up. Reducing autoattacks will likely reduce the spike damage taken though.

Basically, the idea is to reduce the chance that prince can parry your attack, leading to Thrash parries that wtfpwn you as the tank.

Edit:

Taken from WoWWiki insert

Thrash (Phase Two)
Thrash gains two extra rapid-fire melee attacks against Malchezaar's current target. Malchezaar uses this ability unpredictably, from a few seconds to up to a few dozen seconds between each use.

Parry (Phase Two)
Parry avoids a frontal melee attack as the character ability. This is notable because Parry speeds up the next attack by 40%, and is dangerous in combination with Thrash.

Now that explains a hell of a lot.

I remember healing Tyton once and several times he got double and triple crushed in quick succession, leading to wipes.. and there I am wondering how/why that happened (thinking one of us lagged because of the speed with which they hit).

So I guess an improved strat is to dps slow at the start, make sure whoever's tanking has massive, massive agro. And deselect boss during 2nd stage where convinient
