Cray Pet DPS....Get a Scorpid

Not sure if any of you guys have read/heard any of the rave about Scorpid poision. Anyways here's a link to explain all the fuss and OP-ness of it
If you're a Marks hunter with high AP and have enough Focus generating abilities I would highly recommend you grab yourself a scorpid just for outright crazy dps.

I'll summarise: 1000+ per poison tick!

I had one but I'm not marks and my AP is quite lame so it didn't work out for me. Plus I like my kitty collection. But some of you other hunters might be interested.

Alternatively you could get a Wind Serpent. 2nd best Marks pet and also loads of dmg and a lot less fuss.

I dont think scorpids were ever about "massive dps".

Scorpids were about protecting your viper sting from being removed by druids/pallies/shamans etc in the arena/bg's.

If you manage to find a smart hunter in the arena (extremely rare), they will send the scorpid after you, attempt to get a few stacks on (coupled with silencing shot it sucks Sad

), then viper sting. This enables the mana drain effect to last alot longer as you have to clease/abolish/cure the multiple stacks of scorpid poison first.

Nah, there was a bug with hunters and scorpids which multiplied their dps per poison stack. I think they fixed it thought, although I can never remember which patch/when this was.

Well scorpids were complained about in arenas for the poison stacking, but without dash I just found them unreliable. My pet could never catch the casters :p. I ended up ditching mine in favour of a fast attacking cat and found it more reliable.

But like madal said, the DPS thing had to do with a bug in how the poison stacking was calculated. Basically buff up your AP big time and send in your scorpid and go nuts. when it wears off the scorpid poison will still benefit

I've read a few forums which suggest that it didn't get nerfed? I dunno, never tested it in PVE myself. The posts could've been talking about PVP tho.
