Hey guys,
We have had quite a few departures of late with ex-guildies leaving to see more content and in some ways TBH, I can sympathise. 6-9 months of Kara has gotten somewhat stale and become more of an alt/noob gearing exercise and badge run
(That is an entirely separate discussion/can of worms. That's not the point of this post, so please dont go there =P)
Anyways, seeing so many long time faces leave has kinda prompted me into action. I've asked Major and Tree to allow me to try push forward with seeing more raiding content. In the immediate future, that means ZA.
25-mans like Gruul's and Mag are easily within reach gear-wise, but are not feasible given the guild size and required RL commitments of people who can lead raids. We'll tackle that when we get there.
So for now, my thought is to try do ZA on Thursdays and Sundays (if enough people are keen). Get access to T5-quality gear and have the benefit of raiding TWICE a week. 3-day resets ftw! Plus it is actually a very short instance. Once properly geared and experienced, ZA should be clearable in under 2 hours.
I kinda see this as a win-win, in that we see newer content, get better loot and actually require less of a RL-time commitment.
Kara runs could probably still run on Sunday nights or any other night that people are keen on. My thinking is that Kara should be a treated as a secondary "fun run" or "alt run". Once we can get ZA completed smoothly, I don't see why we couldn't do both. But for the mean time ZA progression would require more focus and for Kara to take a back seat.
Vote YES if you're keen on the idea. _________________ Highest crit to date:

I voted Yes as well. Would love to go Kara still though and not put it to bed entirely, only coz my gear is the same level as most people's alts. Hopefully I am/will be in a position to either heal or OT in ZA as the situation demands.
Are there as many badges available in ZA? Or will Kara be better for simple badge runs... especially with 2.4 looming in the horizon. |

When it comes to easy badges, Kara will probably be the best way to farm them. 22 badges from a full clear (excluding NS).
And perhaps we do the occasional badge run. But I guess when we get everyone together I'd like to try tackle the harder/newer content.
My view is that kara has been on farm for a while, and to me its like an easy heroic but bigger. It shouldn't be so hard or that big a deal to organise ad hoc runs. That's kinda where we gotta be, if we ever want a chance of progressing further. _________________ Highest crit to date:

Main stream spec players will do far better from running ZA than Kara.
Hybrid spec or weirdos like non healing shammies, moonkins, ret pallies etc will still be better off running badge runs. Don't forget that once 2.4 comes out you'll be seeing alot of killer badge gear with rep gained from dailies and sunwell instances. _________________ Is it a bird? Is a plane? Its a spacechicken!
