yeah i've read this one as well....
back in the bad old days, shamans were half decent off tanks....then they nerfed all our specific aggro generating abilities
But its definitely possible - heck back in the day, i tanked UBRS in crappy blues (and i wasn't even wearing defence gear) _________________ Need more sleeeep.....oh LF1M Shaman scholo....me me me!

you mean build up a tanking set on top of my
- PVE elemental set
- PVP elemental set
- PVE resto set
- PVE enhance set
- and the beginnings of my PVP enhance set?
I think not.... _________________ Need more sleeeep.....oh LF1M Shaman scholo....me me me!

Wow, that's pretty cool.
17.1k HP and 13k armor actually aint bad at all. I started tanking kara with 13.5/13k.
DO IT MAJOR!! DO IT!! I thought you were a *real* shaman =P _________________ Highest crit to date:

Are you serious beef?
When i say "set" i mean at least 5-6 pieces of different gear....changing one trinket and one ring does not equal to a new set! >.< _________________ Need more sleeeep.....oh LF1M Shaman scholo....me me me!

If we start from Feral Tank Threat set I swap:
To Kitty: Head, Neck, Chest, Legs, 1 Ring, both Trinks
To PVP: Head, Cloak, 1 Ring, both Trinks
To Mitigation Set: Boots, Trink
(once I get the badge gear this will include chest and legs, and eventually shoulders once I get more arena points)
To Stam Set: Boots, Cloak, Trink
(once I get the badge gear this will include chest and legs)
So they might not count by your reckoning, but are sets just the same in my mind, as i must consider how new loot that drops fits in to all of those scenarios. Especially once I obtain all the Feral gear I intend to get. That might not happen though, as WOTLK will be out before I get em all.
I think a lot of it has to do with how Blizz has designed the Feral Tier/Badge gear from a tanking perspective. they lack Defense Rating, so i must rely on playing around with my Heavy Clefthoof Set to ensure I stay uncrittable. Its pretty annoying. I could, of course, use Glad gear, but outside of S3 gear, the glad gear only buffs +heal instead of proper feral stats. Yes, thats referring to the feral S1/S2 gear.
The changes between my diff resto and balance sets are pretty much across the board so definitely count as sets by your reckoning. |

Haha, i feel your pain tree ...
Druid = Heal, Tank (pisspoor), Pusscat (not bad actually), Moonkin DPS, Moonkin PvP, Moonkin DPS Shadow Resist
Warrior = DPS, Mitigation, Nature resist, Fire Resist, no real PvP to speak of
Lock = PvE, PvP
Mage = only one set ... only play this toon when our server is down
Priest ... up and coming, but will be PvE Heals, PvP Disc, PvE shadow (will be offspec, no real intention of building yet another DPSer) _________________ Is it a bird? Is a plane? Its a spacechicken! Boom! |

Lol, BM hunters are OP in anything that they wear. They can wear any generic hunter gear and do pretty well. _________________ Highest crit to date:
