Gearing up! Enhance PVP

well after a bit of PVP lately, I've decided to go down the enhancement PVP path for a bit....

Now I'm wondering how long it'll take to gear myself up properly! - I started last night with around 39 resil and got up to about 139 resil, 9.1k hp, 1.3k AP and 26.5% to crit

I'll post again in a week's time and see how fast i can gear up!

plan:

- PVP my butt off for the vindicator bracers + belt + 2 rings
- use badges or honor for S1 armour, then beg guildies for gem crafting/enchants
- whore myself out to some 5v5 team for quick ezy arena points

:Best way to farm honor is to hit up AV for a few hours and then go into the other battlegrounds for the badges you need.
*A win in AV can end up being a total 800 honor after the bonus honor and killing blows(if you win).

- use badges or honor for S1 armour, then beg guildies for gem crafting/enchants
:Wouldn't use badges for that since you will be getting arena/honor points.
*I'd use the badges to buy the Gems from the isle and then get the best crafted gems for the Vindicator's Neck/Wrist and also use them on the vengeful gear you get, waste using it S1 Glad set since it will be replaced with S2 shoulder S3 Set.

Well i've added boots and belt now

the new plan is to accumulate as many badges and honor as possible!

I've bought S2 verteran's belt for 40 badges and planning on the same for the ring

Planning to PVP honor for the wrist and either neck or ring (i'm leaning towards ring - less enchants)

The reason is - if I can get badges and honor at equal rates, I'll upgrade alot quicker, than just PVP'ing for vindicator's gear. And the sooner I gear up the resil, the soon I'll be PVP viable.

The 2 big ticket items that'll take me at least 2-3 weeks to acquire will be the S3 chest and "Dory's Embrace" (60 badges) So I'll try to run as many heroics as possible.

I hope to somehow gain 10k honor this week, to get my vindicator's bracers. That should theoretically put me over 200 resil....

Yeh Major I'm aiming for Dory's Embrace as well... thought about getting the Veteran's stuff with my badges, but prefer the vindicator's. I'm close to getting the S3 helm and vindicator's ring in the coming week. Will make things interesting.

My problem is getting a new MH/OH. The S1 healy ones arent great upgrades (minor stam + the resi). Minor in the sense that its a lot of freaking honour to grind for marginal improvs. Maybe I'll wait till S4 and honour grind the S2 MH/OH.

Nah beef - the diff between Veterans and Vindicators is minimal.

True if your a perfectionist - you'd want vindicators everything, but gearing up quickly to be harder to kill sooner is better imho...

As to your MH/OH problem - if your resil is already at 400, then don't worry. If your stam is low and resil is low, i'd definitely grab the S1 gear. Try to be at least 10k unbuffed, so you don't get 1-2 shotted when a stupid warrior proc's mace stun repeatedly on your furry ass! (also whenever i saw people with PVE gear in arena, I always think "Free kill")

Once I replace my chest, (hopefully in 2 weeks) I'll be in the high 300's resil. 9.5k unbuffed, 189 resil and 1400ish AP and over 30% crit atm.

Ideally i'd like to be at 1.6- 1.8k unbuffed AP - so that one WF proc puts me near 2000AP. With enhance shamans AP its a bit bizzare - we add about 200-400 AP just by proc'ing one crit and or 1 WF hit. e.g. in raids i'm 1.4k AP - once I proc everything + buffs i'm at like 2.4k AP

I'd probably get a Veteran's or 2 if I still farmed badges, which I dont do so much anymore. So I'll accumulate the 60 badges for the cloak (only need 6 more) as there's currently no equivalent purchasable with arena points or honour from what I've seen.

ok new question guys - how much armour penetration is enough?

I have the S3 ring which gives me 56 armour pen, and the S4 ring is similar. However Angelista's revenge has 112 armour pen, but no resil.....

I currently have 336 armour penetration and wondering at what point i should stop?

(once I get a S2 mace with executioner, the circle will be complete!)

Just stack as much ArP as whatever comes with your gear, but I wouldn't focus on it as your primary stat. Basically the more the merrier (1.5K+ is good). Imo, I would still focus on Resil/Stam/Str/AP/Crit etc before ArP

1.5K ArP is enough to effectively halve most clothies armor. So you'll get like a 10-15% dps boost on them, but against a plate 1.5k wont give you much of a boost at all. Like 2% if you're lucky.

As for Expertise. I reckon that's a mad stat. Again as much as you can without sacraficing your other stats. But every point of Expertise, is worth 2 points of hit imo. Aside from the effective +hit, the parry reduction is a great bonus.

There's only one trinket i'd want to get - it drops from the PVP fight in heroic Mgt - its +equip expertise and +use AP
